" Cafe de Norasingha "

How are you MY FRIENDS ? :)
Have you plan to go anywhere on this weekend ?
I will recommend you a classy coffee shop named
" Cafe de Norasingha "

Cafe de Norasingha, down memory lane to the first coffe shop in Thailand @Phayathai Palace.

Cafe de Norasingha used to be located near King Chulalongkorn Monument. Built during the reign of King Rama 6, it was the local watering hole for both Thais and foreigners to meet, eat, and socialize. It unfortunately closed during the reign of King Rama 7. The Government House now stands in place of where the coffee shop used to be.

Cafe de Norasingha is now located nearby Phayathai Palace, and occupies the parking area of the palace. The shop is decorated with custom-made replicas of furniture during the reign of King Rama 6. What makes the furniture unique, is the engravings on the wooden chairs.

Cafe de Norasingha also has a food menu for customers who would like to dine nearby the palace. Their dishes are classic Thai dishes but prepared following original recipes. The “salted pork with toast” is a recommended dish. Unlike other restaurants. The coffee shop also has international foods and sandwiches on the menu. Prices range from 45 to 150 Baht. To finish off your meal, order one (or more) of their homemade desserts. The “lemon meringue” comes highly recommended.
Blueberry Waffle makes for a great dessert choice

Cafe de Norasingha serves coffee that you can find in any regular coffee shop; espresso, cappucino, etc. In addition to coffee, the shop also serves tea, hot/cold cocoa, and fruit juices. Prices for beverages range from 35 to 50 Baht only.

Like the original Café de Norasingha, the café continues to serve foods based on Royal recipes. The recipes for the dressings served with the café’s salads are from Chitralada Palace.

Although the shop has been closed and reopened, Cafe de Norasingha still remains the first coffee shop in Thailand. The interior has a classic look and feel. Prices are affordable too.
